Summer is all about festivals and good events that you can go to. And there seems to be quite a full list of events that you can attend this summer in Moldova which gives us plenty of excuses to enjoy the good food as well.
A few weeks back, the 1st Picnic Food Fest was organized here – a festival intended to promote the best international street food, great chefs and restaurants from Chisinau. The event itself was organized outside of Chisinau, at a camping resort, so together with a few friends, we got in the car and at the festival we went.
We got there pretty fast, parked the car and went out to get our tickets. There were plenty of people there already, all looking forward to taste the international cuisine. There were a lot of restaurants that brought some of their famous dishes that we got to try there, starting from hummus, burgers, oysters, salads, paella, sandwiches and ending with desserts like cupcakes, cheesecakes and eclairs. Of course, the ice tea, coffee and cold lemonade were also at the order of the day.
While people were waiting in line to get their dishes or enjoying something they’ve bought already, there were also plenty of activities organized for kids or contests organized for all the participants, workshops and great music.
Overall, the event was very well organized, there’s room to grow and I’m definitely looking forward to the next Food Fest event. If you’d like to attend the next event as well, be sure to like the Picnic Food Fest Facebook page – and I’ll meet you there!
The full list of dishes that we were able to see and try at the fest can be found here.
You can see some of the photos from the event below. Stay on the loop for more updates 😉
